About VGC

A Boutique Manhattan Contractor With the Resources of an Industry Leader

Bright Manhattan living room with built-in white bookcases, herringbone oak floor and fireplace

Established 1987

Founded by Edward "Eddie" Varricchio in New York City.

VGC NYC Builders Inc. is a Manhattan general contractor that specializes in complete renovations of luxury apartments, penthouses, lofts and townhouses in New York City. Founded in 1987 by Edward "Eddie" Varricchio, the firm works mainly in pre-war co-ops and condominiums on the Upper East Side, Upper West Side and in Downtown Manhattan.

Most of our projects come through architects and interior designers who need a builder that follows the drawings to the detail and handles the building, the board and the neighbors without drama. Homeowners hire us for the same reason: a calm, organized process and a finished home that matches the vision.

Process

How a VGC Renovation Works

A clear process removes the stress most people expect from a New York renovation.

  1. Step01

    Consultation and site visit

We meet you and your design team, walk the space and review the drawings and goals.

  2. Step02

    Detailed proposal

A line-by-line estimate and schedule based on the plans, so you know what you are paying for.

  3. Step03

    Building and board approvals

We prepare the documents, insurance and logistics your building and board require before work begins.

  4. Step04

    Construction

One project lead runs the site, coordinates every trade and reports progress on a set schedule.

  5. Step05

    Finishing and handover

We complete the punch list with you and your designer, then hand over a home that is ready to live in.
